Custom 3D Print Request FAQ

What should I include in my request?

Please include:

  • What the part is for
  • File attachments if you have them
  • Measurements
  • Material or strength requirements
  • Quantity needed
  • Deadline
  • Photos from multiple angles
  • Whether it needs to fit with another part

What files do I need to send?

For printing, the best files are STL, 3MF, OBJ, or STEP.

If you only have photos or screenshots, we may still be able to help, but that becomes a design/modeling job, not just a print job.

Can you print from a picture?

Yes, but a picture is not a 3D model.

If you send only a photo, we’ll need to create or recreate the model first, and that adds design time and cost.

What if I need you to design the part?

We offer 3D design/modeling services when possible. Design work is billed separately from printing. Simple parts may only take a short time, while complex parts may require multiple hours, revisions, or test prints.

How much does a custom print cost?

Pricing depends on size, material, print time, complexity, and whether design work is needed.

Our minimum custom order is $30.

Can you give me a quote without measurements?

Not accurately. Please include the key measurements, especially overall length, width, height, hole sizes, thickness, and any parts it needs to fit with.

Do you offer functional replacement parts?

Yes, but we need clear measurements and photos from multiple angles. For functional parts, we may recommend stronger materials depending on the use.

What materials can you print in?

We can print in several materials depending on the job, including PLA, PETG, PETG-CF/GF, ASA, TPU, and nylon-based materials when needed. We’ll recommend the best option based on heat, strength, flexibility, outdoor use, or chemical exposure.

Are 3D printed parts as strong as molded plastic?

Sometimes they can be very strong, but they are not always the same as injection-molded parts. Strength depends on material, orientation, wall count, infill, and part design. We’ll help choose the best setup for the job.

Can you make parts waterproof?

Some materials handle water well, but 3D printed parts are not automatically waterproof. If the part needs to hold water, seal liquid, or stay submerged, tell us upfront so we can design and print it properly.

Can you copy or reproduce a broken part?

Yes, the best option is to bring or send us the original part so we can measure it directly. Photos help, but physical parts are much better for accurate fitment.

How long does it take?

Simple prints can sometimes be done same day or next day. Rushed orders will incur an additional service fee. Larger prints, design work, specialty materials, and test fitting may take longer. We’ll give you a realistic timeline before starting.

Do I need to pay before work starts?

Yes. For custom design or print work, payment is required before we begin. This helps cover design time, material, machine time, and scheduling.

Can I pick up locally?

Yes. Local pickup is available in Mesa, Arizona. Shipping may also be available depending on the project.
